RAC is at the leading edge of affordable advanced composite design and manufacturing. RAC has a proven low-risk capability for the manufacturing of precision, large-scale, advanced composite structures. These include combatant craft delivered to, and being designed for U.S. Special Operations Command and the littoral/riverine requirements of the U.S. Navy as well as the full spectrum of requirements for international maritime security cooperation.
The RAC team includes the University of Delaware's Center for Composite Materials (UD-CCM), an internationally recognized research center with a 35-year history of performing world class research and transitioning technologies into real world mission applications. UD-CCM has been recognized as a Center of Excellence for the U.S. Army since 1986 and for the Office of Naval Research since 1997.
Other team members are:
- GENERAL DYNAMICS: The General Dynamics Armament and Technical Products Division (GDATP), providing the most up to date crew-served lethality systems for RAC Vessels.
- KONGSBERG DEFENCE SYSTEMS: Providing remote optically controlled, gyro-stabilized weapons stations for RAC Combatant Craft.
- THE BOEING COMPANY: Providing global integrated logistics, systems integration, and services for RAC vessels.
RAC’s unique technology applications and innovative approaches are the foundation for a game-changing technology and manufacturing process leading to an affordable family of combatant craft up to 250 feet.
